they're allowed to sing about literally whatever they want because green day's music varies from tons of different topics. also shadow from va, it doesn't matter what you think of "political music". it doesn't matter what YOU think because you're so obviously wrong. if the band calls themselves punk then they are.

The lyric, "At the end of another lost highway," refers to the group of kids who hang out under the highway where once again he doesn't fit in.
